Traveling with Your Dogfrom EU to United States
Flying from the EU to the United States with your dog? Here's everything you need to ensure a smooth journey.
Basic Requirements
- • Your dog must be at least 6 months old at the time of travel
- • Dogs must appear healthy upon arrival
- • Your dog must have a microchip that can be read by a universal scanner
Required Documentation
- • Complete the CDC Dog Import Form online (Instructions)
- • After submission, you'll receive a receipt valid for 6 months
- • The receipt must be presented upon entry digitally or printed

Dogs traveling from EU countries can enter the United States through any:
- • International airport
- • Seaport
- • Land border crossing
Important Notes
- • Each dog requires its own CDC Import Form
- • It's recommended to complete the CDC Dog Import Form a few days before your travel date.
- • There is no fee for completing the CDC Dog Import Form

- • While not always required, carrying your dog's vaccination records, including rabies certification, is advisable
